Educational Objectives

1. Demonstrate knowledge of nomenclature, diagnostic criteria, and the epidemiology of Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD).

2. Identify which people are appropriate for inpatient management vs. outpatient management of Alcohol Withdrawal Syndrome (AWS).

3. Recognize the salient features of alcohol use disorder (AUD) and identify when pharmacotherapy is an option.

4. Compare pharmacotherapy options for the treatment of AUD and identify which might be most appropriate in certain common clinical settings.
