Description of CME Course
Typical interventions used during the second stage of labor frequently impede oxygen delivery and increase risk to the patient, fetus, and practitioner. Underutilization of laboring down, open-glottis breathing and upright positions by physicians is evident nationwide. This activity outlines the benefits of these interventions and discusses new ACOG & SMFM guidelines, as well as current AWHONN and FIGO recommendations that support their use.
Diplomate Engagement
Pre-and Post-test results are provided to diplomate and an evaluation survey is issued upon completion of the course. A follow-up post-activity survey is also issued 3-4 months after completion that asks what practice changes have been made.
