Description of CME Course

PPH is one of the most common diagnoses resulting in medical malpractice allegations, accounting for 15% of maternal injury claims. Delayed and disorganized PPH management is common root cause of PPH-associated malpractice claims. If a physician has the knowledge and expertise to perform a certain surgical procedure but did not when a clinical situation warranted it, he or she may be negligent in their care. This is the eleventh of 14 modules within our PPH series. This course focuses surgical interventions used during the management of severe PPH. Risk reduction strategies and recommendations to decrease PPH-related malpractice allegations are highlighted.
