Description of CME Course

When sharing PGx information with patients and other health care providers, the electronic health record (EHR) can serve as an active or passive support for clinicians in addition to assisting in clinical decision making surrounding PGx. While there are benefits to having PGx support in the EHR including patient visibility, transparency, and accessibility, there are also challenges including misinterpretation of information and potential lack of privacy. This course will provide guidance about using the electronic health record to communicate and share pharmacogenomic information within the health care system and between members of the PGx team.
