Description of CME Course
An adverse surgical event led to a professional liability claim against the primary care physician, the referring ophthalmologist, the retinal specialist, the anesthesiologist, the surgery center, and the surgery center nurse. Using an event chronology, this monograph traces the errors and contributing factors as they unfolded, illustrating the pitfalls, and presenting risk reduction strategies for the ophthalmologist.
Diplomate Engagement
Pre-and Post-test results are provided to diplomate and an evaluation survey is issued upon completion of the course. A follow-up post-activity survey is also issued 3-4 months after completion that asks what practice changes have been made.
