Description of CME Course

The content of this course will help healthcare providers understand the connection between domestic violence and pregnancy and the impact violence has on maternal health. Participants will be provided a philosophical basis for trauma-informed and survivor-centered care as well as tools to equip healthcare providers with core knowledge and skills to screen patients for domestic violence. Participants will also learn basic techniques to determine which approaches are safe, practical, and empowering for providing information and meaningful referrals to pregnant and postpartum patients who are experiencing domestic violence.
