Description of CME Course

Accurate and reliable blood pressure (BP) measurement is critical for the proper diagnosis and management of hypertension. Many factors can contribute to inaccurate BP readings, and these include the patient themselves, the equipment that’s available to you, procedural factors, and observer related factors. It is important to be aware of these factors. In this module, you’ll learn how to identify and reduce the impact of these factors. This module should be taken after the completion of the BP Measurement Essentials module on an as-needed basis.

Note to Faculty: Please click on the “Resources” tab above to download a faculty guide for the AMA Student BP Series. The faculty guide provides a brief overview of the series, suggestions on when to implement each module, and access to cases and assessment materials developed by medical school educators.
