Educational Objectives
· Identify patients with mood disorders at elevated risk for tardive dyskinesia based on psychiatric history, antipsychotic exposure, and longitudinal symptom patterns
· Use validated movement‑disorder assessment tools (eg, AIMS) to detect and differentiate abnormal involuntary movements within complex psychiatric presentations
· Integrate structured TD screening and monitoring into psychiatric workflows across outpatient, inpatient, and community mental health settings
· Develop individualized TD management strategies — including appropriate use of FDA‑approved VMAT2 inhibitors — that account for psychiatric comorbidities, treatment adherence, and patient‑centered goals
