Description of CME Course
A project-based course for interprofessional teams of clinicians to create and implement a clinical guideline and accompanying tools to support implementation (i.e., order sets, smart sets, patient education materials). Objectives • Provide a comprehensive overview of Evidence-based Practice (EBP) and the components essential for implementation of EBP in a clinical setting. • Develop EBP skills that enable staff to conduct extensive evaluations of existing literature to improve patient care.

Educational Objectives
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Analyze the major components of the EBP process.
2. Utilize PICO question(s) for framing clinical inquiry.
3. Search online databases for evidence.
4. Analyze an existing guideline with the University of Pennsylvania’s Trustworthy Guideline Rating Scale.
5. Critically analyze research articles based on levels of evidence using Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE).
