Description of CME Course

In the course, participants will have opportunities to discuss the realities and complexities of treating people who are engaged in treatment court and apply strategies to real-world case studies with the goal of partnering with treatment courts and optimizing community resource linkage to better serve patients’ needs. The course is designed to help prescribing clinicians identify and understand the jurisdiction of their local treatment court and consider addiction treatment challenges and explore treatment opportunities unique to their court settings.

5. Define the roles and responsibilities of treatment court team members.
6. Describe the roles and responsibilities of medical providers within treatment court settings.
7. Apply best clinical and partnership practices to case examples of patients who are engaged in treatment court and addiction treatment.
8. Advocate effectively for access to evidence-based treatment with treatment court team members.
