Description of CME Course
For the FMA’s 2025 Annual Meeting, three CME tracks have been planned to support physicians in accomplishing the following goals:
1. Successfully navigate Florida’s medical landscape;
2. Comply with specific state requirements (screening and making appropriate referrals for domestic violence, improved prescribing habits, and implementing practices to minimize medical errors);
3. Explore the latest advancements in managing cardiometabolic risk (CMR) and preventing cardiovascular disease (CVD); and
4. Highlight evidence-based approaches to pain management for patients, particularly those with substance use disorders, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive, multidisciplinary strategy that prioritizes non-opioid pain treatments, thoughtful opioid prescribing when necessary, and active engagement with patients and their support systems.

Educational Objectives
After completing all three CME tracks at FMA 2025 Annual Meeting. learners will be able to:
1. Address key issues that affect Florida-licensed physicians and comply with educational mandates related to human trafficking, domestic violence, prescribing, and medical errors.
2. Implement innovative approaches for recognition and management of CMR and CDV, including personalized medicine and refined screening strategies, use of GLP-1’s and SGLT-2’s, exploration of biomarkers, and nutrition and lifestyle interventions.
3. Utilize information, resources and tips shared to support their care of patients adversely affected by pain, particularly those at high risk of SUD, OUD, and StUD.
