Description of CME Course

Inappropriate, unsafe, or lack of transport when clinically indicated increases medical-legal risk to obstetricians and hospitals. Early identification of a perinatal patient (mother or fetus) requiring transport to a higher level of care improves outcomes. In 2015, ACOG & SMFM established and defined new maternal levels of care and outlined guidelines for maternal transport. This monograph applies the 2015 maternal levels of care and their implications on maternal and/or fetal transport into an electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) case study format.

Diplomate Engagement

Correct answers to the post-test, comparative performance to peers; recommended literature or other resources (presentations, audio/video, checklists, etc.); post-activity follow up.
