Over 10 cohorts of the Substance Use Disorders in Hospital Care ECHO, many participants have received training on how best to care for their patients with Substance Use Disorders. This community of practice will allow graduates of those cohorts to come together to discuss their current cases and get recommendations from expert faculty as well as their peers

Educational Objectives
After taking this course, learners will be able to:
1. Learn to screen for and care for substance use disorders in an acute inpatient settings.
2. Understand successful models of hospital-based addiction care
3. Understand medications used to treat opioid use disorder (buprenorphine and suboxone).
4. Develop an approach to collaborating to treat addiction in hospitals and improve systems with a multidisciplinary team (General medical providers, nurses, social workers, and pharmacists can collaborate).
5. Learn to support linkage to treatment after hospitalization. 6. Understand harm reduction and its role in the treatment of substance use disorders.
