Description of CME Course
This 10 session ECHO series will build the capacity of clinicians and their teams to diagnose and treat Parkinson Disease (PD) and address common issues that occur because of a Parkinson diagnosis. Topics may include: • Differential diagnosis of PD and related conditions • Treating non-motor symptoms of PD • Cognitive effects of PD, including depression and anxiety • Safety concerns, including fall risks, safety at home, and driving • Hospitalization and PD • Advanced stage PD medication management and palliative care ECHO is a tele-mentoring program that uses videoconferencing technology to combine brief lectures with interactive and practical case presentations from participants. The overall goal of ECHO programming is to build new capacity for care at the community level.

fter completing the Parkinson ECHO, health care provider team participants will be able to:
• Identify Parkinson’s disease diagnosis differential, possible testing, and importance of diagnosis delivery.
• Discuss non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic treatment options for Parkinson’s disease.
• Understand the role of team based care for Parkinson’s disease and when to refer for rehab therapy.
• Assess family members for burden and discuss options for support. • Understand appropriate educational and support resources for patients with PD.
