Educational Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to…: • Describe signs and symptoms of common skin conditions: skin cancer, atopic dermatitis (eczema), and psoriasis • List and describe treatment options and potential side-effects for severe skin conditions that may be managed in primary care. • Recognize signs and symptoms of less common skin diseases: pyoderma gangrenosum, hidradenitis suppurativa, alopecia, oral and vulvar dermatologic conditions. • Discuss access issues and when patients may benefit from seeing a primary care provider vs a referral to a specialist in Dermatology. • Explore decision making around patient referrals and the use of eConsults in Dermatology • Identify resources for quick reference and continued learning, and patient education for dermatologic conditions.
