Description of CME Course
Chronic Kidney Disease is of high prevalence, increases with age, and is a great burden at end-stage. Patient outcomes are known to be significantly improved with early identification and intervention, but CKD remains underdiagnosed and undertreated. There are numerous barriers to early identification, including patient nonadherence, inadequate and conflicting professional guidelines, and the failure of payers to cover the costs of screening and early intervention. This monograph aims to assist PCPs to overcome the barriers and promote early identification, timely referral, and successful co-management of the CKD patient.
