Description of CME Course
From smart phones and Chat GPT to sexbots, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing our intimacies, mentation, self-experience and soon, the field of psychoanalysis. Anxiety abounds regarding the presence of these hyper intelligences and the psychoanalytic community has a responsibility and opportunity to confront the situation directly to think about AI’s rapidly unfolding potentials that spans beyond the mainstream utopian and dystopian forecasts. It behooves us to give critical and psychoanalytic attention to these developments, to the promise and peril of this rapidly developing technology. This session is designed to bring awareness about the effects of AI dependence on patient psychology, as well as the psychic implications of AI usage to learn new ways to clinically process the psychological impact of smart phones and AI technology.
