Description of CME Course
The ASAM Criteria Course is comprised of a comprehensive suite of competency-based learning activities in a distance learning delivery method and the live interactive webinar delivery format that meet the learning needs of the multiple audiences and results in the appropriate use of the Criteria in practice. This is a practical training designed to help beginner, intermediate, and advanced counselors, social workers, administrators, and other clinical staff develop patient-centered service plans and make objective decisions about patient admission, continuing care, and transfer/discharge for individuals with addictive, substance-related, and co-occurring conditions. The workshop content is based on information found in The ASAM Criteria: Treatment Criteria for Addictive, Substance-Related, and Co-Occurring Conditions, Third Edition and incorporates an opportunity for participants to practice applying the information through case-based activities.
