Description of CME Course
NEJM Knowledge+ Internal Medicine Board Review is a lifelong learning solution to help learners prepare for the ABIM certification and recertification exams and improve their practice of medicine. Developed for time-strapped family medicine physicians, residents, and other healthcare professionals, this learning activity employs the latest advances in adaptive learning technology to ensure an engaging and efficient learning experience.
Diplomate Engagement
NEJM Knowledge+ Internal Medicine is an adaptive learning experience with multiple mechanisms to provide feedback to learners. Learners choose a subspecialty area and are presented with a sequence of questions indicating their confidence level for each question. After each question is answered, learners receive immediate feedback as they complete an item and are shown the correct answer and explanatory text with citations. Learners can review their personal performance within a module and across each blueprint domain (such as outpatient vs. ambulatory practice, diagnosis vs. treatment, chronic vs. acute cases, communication vs. medical knowledge). Multiple reports show individual progress and performance as well as metacognitive feedback. In addition, we have another mechanism for feedback by utilizing a “Challenge Us” link. “Challenge Us” enables two-way communication with the editorial team which reviews and responds to each learner’s question and comment. Additional feedback is provided to the learner including updates that were made to the content as a result of their comments.
