Description of CME Course
Hospital-acquired infections affect two million hospitalized patients each year and contribute to the death of 90,000 annually. There is growing evidence that many of these hospitals acquired infections are originating in the operating room and anesthesia workspace. It is the responsibility of everyone working in the operating room to do their part to protect patients from the spread of infections.
In this course, you’ll learn about the latest guidelines developed to help providers reduce the spread of infections from anesthesia procedures and the anesthesia workspace. In addition, you will learn about the importance of proper hand hygiene, safe medication administration practices, and the role of environmental contamination in the spread of hospital-acquired infections.
