Educational Objectives

1. Describe the role of each member of a diabetes care team, and understand how roles may look very different across diverse contexts.
2. Discuss strategies for the identification and management of type 2 diabetes complications and comorbidities (e.g., oral health, kidney disease, neuropathy, ocular complications, depression, and foot care).
3. Develop strategies for engaging patients, families, and communities (e.g., motivational interviewing, shared decision making).
4. Design cost-effective and evidence-based medication management strategies for type 2 diabetes.
