The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has infected millions and killed hundreds of thousands worldwide. Current COVID-19 data show that 80% of infections are mild or asymptomatic and only 5% are critical infections that require artificial ventilation. Of the confirmed cases in the US, pregnant women are contracting the disease. Data on how SARS-CoV-2 effects pregnancy, fetuses and newborns is extremely limited. Facts, fiction, and risks associated with COVID-19 infected pregnant women are discussed with the most recent information available.
