Description

The 2016 Annual Assembly Cancer Rehabilitation Summit activity contains audio from the event that highlighted the unique opportunities for physiatrists to transform their practice in the cancer care continuum. The following sessions and their slides in PDF format (located under the RESOURCES section) are included in this activity:

SESSION I: Cancer Rehabilitation Practice Development Models (98 minutes)
This session will introduce different practice models of cancer rehabilitation. A practice model in a large academic medical center will be presented demonstrating opportunities for integration within clinical, teaching, and administrative operations. In addition, a practice model in a smaller private cancer center will be presented, highlighting the great potential opportunity in this setting. The different potential clinical components of a cancer rehabilitation practice will be presented including inpatient, outpatient, and consultative care. The opportunities and potential pitfalls in each of these areas will be discussed.
SESSION II: Clinical Practice Areas in Cancer Rehabilitation: Part 1 (100 minutes)
This session will introduce common cancer-related impairments that can benefit from a physiatric approach, using a case-based format. Attendees will come away from this session with major bullet-pointed clinical skills that can be immediately implemented into their practice.
SESSION III: Clinical Practice Areas in Cancer Rehabilitation: Part 2 (103 minutes)
